Polity is the inaugural undergraduate research conference hosted by the Political Science Students' Association at McGill University. Bringing together student scholars from across disciplines, Polity creates a rigorous and welcoming space for original political science research to be presented, debated, and celebrated.
The conference spans two days of student paper presentations, faculty-led roundtables, and exclusive workshops — designed to bridge the gap between undergraduate inquiry and the wider scholarly conversation. Whether your work engages with democratic theory, international conflict, climate governance, or populist movements, Polity is where your ideas meet their audience.
Our mission is simple: to take undergraduate research seriously. Not as a rehearsal for graduate school, but as scholarship in its own right — original, evidence-based, and intellectually courageous.
Peer-reviewed panels showcasing original undergraduate research across rights & identity, conflict & security, climate politics, and populism. Three presenters per panel.
Intimate faculty-led discussions placing undergraduate research in conversation with cutting-edge scholarship in comparative politics, IR, political theory, and public policy.
Hands-on sessions covering research methods, academic writing, graduate school preparation, policy communication, and more — led by faculty and senior researchers.
Meet professors, graduate students, and peers — Polity 2026 is designed to spark meaningful connections beyond the classroom.
